The General Meeting of the Butte des Morts Conservation Club was called to order on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Terrell Island Schoolhouse at 6:30pm by Bruce Loberg.
- Property/Trail Update
- Jordan will contact Hyler regarding porta potty price. Right now, we pay $170/month for 1 porta potty. This includes weekly cleanings.
- Breakwall Project – Bruce had a meeting on June 4th with everyone. DNR permits are good through 2025. Grants need to be secured yet. If the cost with Hyway Landscape increased, we will need to rebid again. Bruce will be in contact.
- Parking Lot Camera Project – Power and light is installed. On Thursday, June 13th, 3 cameras will be installed. 2 overlooking the parking lot and 1 at the drive in which will take pictures of each car’s plates.
- “Andrew Project: Permit fees are $600. Art and Andrew are working on a draft to DNR to explain what we are doing. However, the permits will not happen this year.
- Remaining rocks inside island: Art is looking for quantity of rock in order to get quotes.
- Automated gates – Dave Lux looked into options. They can get pricey but he thinks we would be OK with a less expensive route.
- Buildings – Estimated to be about $5k to take down. We would be responsible for dumpsters. Check with Omro Fire Department to see if they have any interest.
- Fundraising
- Spring Raffle – Suggestion for next year: have more winners such as 10-$50 winners.
- Golf Outing –Sunday, August 18th at Winchester Hills. Jordan will e-mail and mail out registration forms with possible membership renewal good through 2025
- Town Picture Update: Ron will take an aerial picture when things green up and get an updated picture to the town
