Bruce Loberg called the General Meeting of the Butte des Morts Conservation Club to order on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Terrell’s Island Schoolhouse at 6:30 pm. 

 

  1. Property/Trail Update
    1. Turnaround – some settling. May have to do some filling in by the end of summer
    2. We are still looking for a 54-inch lawn mower. Jordan will add to Facebook/Marsh talk.
    3. Guidepost Brochure – Art has completed and sent to Lawanda. Lawanda will get information to Jordan for the website, and Lawanda will condense it into a brochure. We are looking for ideas to secure posts. 
    4. Lift – Jordan will update postings to $600 OBO 
    5. Breakwall update – Bruce had a meeting on June 5th
      1. Grant money has been approved. However, permits are going to take time and are not guaranteed. 
      2. It was agreed to continue with the project on the club’s end. However, nothing is guaranteed until we get the permits and go ahead with DNR.
      3. It was brought up to possibly look into barging which would require more permits.  
    6. Fish Stick permit is good for 5 years, on hold.
    7. Removal of Inside Rock – not much happening right now. Art is investigating the quantity of rock for a possible future project.
  2. Fundraising
    1. Golf Outing Scheduled for August 17th
    2. Calendar Tickets are available to sell 
  3. Memberships – Currently at 46
  4. Old Business
    1. Strategic Plan – Lawanda will put a phone call into Shannon at UWO as she is interested in helping out
    2. Spring clean-up of the buildings – started the schoolhouse building. Slowly working through that. 
    3. Bridge at the parking lot – Bruce is looking into possible viewing platform to be included in rebuild. Check with Radtke?
    4. Pat at Winneconne High School—Jordan added his email to our Marsh Talk list to hopefully get him to a meeting.
    5. Parking Lot Light – Waiting for Alliant to call Bruce back at options
  5. New Business
    1. Ron showed us some great graphs of number of cars arriving in parking lot. 
      1. March – 268. April – 496. May – 625.
