March 10 2025 General Meeting Minutes

Date: March 10, 2025

Pete Guckenberg called the General Meeting of the Butte des Morts Conservation Club to order on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Winklers Westward Ho at 6:30 pm. 

 

  1. Donations
    1. Tom Bett and Ken Balda each made a $500 donation. Jordan will send a Thank You note.
  2. Property/Trail Update
    1. Turnaround project is completed. DNR $11,500, Battle on Bago donation of $5,000 and BDMCC contributed $3,310. We are under our approved $5,600. J
    2. Breakwall Update – No progress was made this year due to ice conditions. Permit is good through November 2025. Will have to rebid. 
    3. Fish Stick Project – Permit is good for 5 Years. On hold for 2025.
    4. Lift – Pete and Dave will get pictures and model number. Post for sale and must be removed by buyer. See where that takes us. 
    5. Display for camera panel – Bruce will contact Tracy again.  
  3. Old Business
    1. The parking lot bridge is failing. This needs to be looked at soon. 
    2. Buildings – House cleaning of the buildings needs to be done in the Spring
    3. Guidepost brochure – Art is making changes to the brochure this winter. 
    4. Lift on hold until Bruce returns. 
    5. Building clean out in the Spring
    6. Bridge at Parking Lot – Bruce is looking into possibly adding a viewing platform. Do we need permits for this?
  4. New Business
    1. Fundraising
      1. Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, August 17th, at Winchester Hills.
      2. Jordan will talk with Lori Jensen who runs the Bingo at Bee Hive on details. 
      3. Dueling Pianos? Jordan will get pricing. 
    2. Liability Insurance is due April 1st, $1,706. Sticking with $500 deductible. 

 

Meeting was adjourned by Randy Pointon seconded by Kevin Stowe at 6:55pm. Next General Meeting will be Monday, April, 14, 2025 at Winklers Westward Ho.
